Community Impact Bucks is the independent charity which provides comprehensive support services to other charities, community groups, social enterprises and rural organisations throughout Buckinghamshire. It is also the Volunteer Centre for Buckinghamshire, helping members of the public to get involved in community activity. How can we help you today?
Buckinghamshire Community Car Federation
The Buckinghamshire Community Car Federation is a network of community car schemes , providing an opportunity to share information and good practice and access support with operational and administrative needs.
There are almost 100 community car schemes in Buckinghamshire alone. They all provide an invaluable service to their local communities, but are not always recognised for the hard work they do . The aim of the federation is to celebrate these schemes, give them a voice and enable them to come together.
Why community car schemes are important
- They provide a door to door, needs led service
- They give a much needed lifeline for people without transport, and can be the difference between someone retaining independence and becoming socially excluded, or needing costly care
- They are much cheaper than taxi travel
- They are friendly and enable people to develop friendships and strengthen local communities
