The voluntary and community sector in Buckinghamshire is a diverse collection of organisations. The views and needs of the sector are equally diverse yet there are times when the sector needs to organise and present a strong and unified voice; to communicate our role in meeting local needs and our strategic importance in policy development especially during this time of rapid change, threats to the sector and reductions in public services.
Community Impact Bucks has a long history of working in partnership with a range of organisations to develop and deliver projects across the county and has always worked to ensure that the voice of the sector is represented through strategic partnerships arrangements, networks with the council and other statutory providers. However, with the significant number of partnerships and forums operating across the county and our own limited resources we need to be selective in the ones we attend in a representative capacity.
As a result in July 2013 our trustees agreed a representation protocol which confirms our criteria for selection.
To fulfill our role in representing and supporting the sector Community Impact Bucks currently provide the following:
- We represent the sectors interests in partnerships, networks and forums
- We coordinate feedback on public sector policy publications and consultations
- We work with partners to implement the Buckinghamshire Compact
- We are a provider partner of Healthwatch Bucks
