Voluntary Sector Support Team

Diane Rutter - Head of Voluntary Sector Support
  I head up a team that helps charities, community groups and volunteers do what they do better. We support voluntary and community groups with information, advice, training, forums, conferences, and helping them to get their voice heard and to engage with local commissioners and local employers. We promote volunteering and we support groups in all aspect of developing and involving volunteers. And we match up people who want to volunteer with groups that are looking for volunteers. In a nutshell - we promote excellence in voluntary and community services.
Andrew Long - Sustainability Co-ordinator
  I support voluntary and community groups throughout Buckinghamshire by offering information and advice in order to help make them more sustainable. Subjects covered include funding, strategic planning, use of information technology, governance, marketing, collaborative working, recruitment, vetting & barring, training and general signposting.
Sara Greenwood - Fundraising Support Officer
  My role is to enhance the fundraising abilities and effectiveness of groups in Buckinghamshire which promote the health and wellbeing of people aged over 50 years of age. This can involve helping a group to become ready to apply for funding, providing advice on how to improve the quality of grant applications, helping to prepare a fundraising strategy, looking at ways of becoming more sustainable through fundraising and income generating initiatives, or involving volunteers in community fundraising projects.
Lucie Maldoom - Volunteer Workout Manager
  Volunteer Workout is an employer supported volunteering programme operating throughout Buckinghamshire. The project supports both employers/businesses and their employees to give back to the community either with team volunteering activities or skill based volunteering. This enables and supports volunteer involving organisations to improve and sustainability of the services that they provide.
Jenny Finnegan - Volunteer Workout Administrator
  I am the initial point of contact and key link between businesses who wish to participate in employer-supported volunteering.
Joy Johns - Volunteering Development Manager
  I manage the team which promotes volunteering to the general public.  Specifically I help voluntary and community groups develop interesting volunteering opportunities.  I advise and run training courses on all aspects of good practice in the recruitment, support and management of volunteers. I am also Volunteer Coordinator for Community Impact Bucks and can assist internally with similar advice and guidance on involving volunteers.
Bill Dempsey - Volunteering Brokerage Co-ordinator
  My role is to promote volunteering across the county and specifically to process individuals or community groups' enquiries about volunteers. I offer potential volunteers support and advice, matching their motivation and skills with appropriate volunteering opportunities.
Helen Cavill - Opportunities for All Co-ordinator
  The Opportunities for All project provides support to people who find it difficult to access volunteering on their own. I work with people to identify suitable roles and to match interests depending on the level of need. The project enables people with additional needs to gain placements within the community.

Alison Holloway – Expert Volunteer Co-ordinator

  Expert volunteers are those people with a specific skill or knowledge who wish to use their experience in their voluntary work. I work with these experts, identifying roles in organisations where their skills may be best used. These may be short or longer term roles and bring much needed strategic and professional knowledge to not-for-profit groups.
Paul Barker - Building Bucks Project Manager
  Building Bucks is a Big Lottery funded project designed to help the voluntary and community sector in the County. This is done by providing health checks, building a brokerage service with the public sector, and developing a more informative and interactive web site for the sector. A key aspect of the project is working with the voluntary and community sector to support them in winning contracts and tenders from public sector commissioners.
Graham Ross - Building Bucks Project Officer
  I have developed a healthcheck toolkit that allows me to work with voluntary and community organisations in order to help develop them and improve their sustainability in the future.
